Jossey–Bass. 1999.
ISBN: 9780787947842.
With the Phoenix Rising presents the stories of ten women who integrated childhood sexual abuse into their lives and emphasizes resilience. The book is described as a qualitative study of ten women survivors, with follow-up interviews several years later, and it focuses on how resilience can be understood and fostered in trauma recovery.
It is an important resource for clinicians working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse because it highlights coping, meaning making, psychotherapy, self-care, and strengths-based recovery.
