Global Viewpoints: Modern Conflict and Diplomacy. Editor: Martin Gitlin. Greenhaven Publishing. 2020. ISBN: 9781534506534.

Modern Conflict and Diplomacy is an introductory anthology in Greenhaven's Global Viewpoints series. It collects contemporary essays, primary documents, and media pieces from multiple countries on war, peace, and diplomatic practice, giving students contrasting national and ideological perspectives on current conflicts.

The Global Viewpoints series frames global issues through juxtaposed essays highlighting non-U.S. as well as U.S. perspectives. Volumes follow a consistent structure, with detailed contents, primary-source excerpts, and short contextual introductions, to allow comparative reading across topics.

Martin Gitlin is an American educational and trade book author who has also served as an editor on some volumes in Greenhaven's Global Viewpoints series. His background is in journalism and educational nonfiction: he worked as a newspaper sportswriter (winning over 45 awards) before moving into authoring and editing more than 200 mainly youth-oriented books on history, civics, sports, and culture.
