Frederic Chopin: Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 2

8 August 2026

Background:

  • Compositions for piano and orchestra originated from late 1820s to the early 1830s, comprising two concert pieces, while Chopin was a student at the Central School of Music in Warsaw.
  • Two piano concertos: No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 and No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21.
  • These concertos belong to a group of compositions in brilliant style, no longer confined by the tenets of the Classical period.
